Hi
Today, I punched in a house address on an estate which is about 5 years old, but the nuvi came up with no matches found. When I drove to it, it shows me sitting in the middle of a field!!
It raises the question: when, how and how often does the data in my nuvi update itself, if at all? |

the answer is Yes. And No.
Maps themselves are on average two years out of date. But then it very much depends on the driving pattern of the surveying teams of Navteq if your estate area is covered or not. Have you reported the map error yet? _________________ Lutz

No, I haven't reported it .. didn't know I could - I'll use your link to NavTeq and see how I get on. Thanks! 8) |

It will never update itself.
The latest Garmin software has been available to most users since January 2007.
CityNavigator Europe v9.
It will cost most people to update, and the rules regarding 'free' updates changed on 1st May and more changes re '2nd unlock' on 1st of June.
What version do you have installed?
Post the location of the housing estate you visited and I [and others] will check if it is in V9! :D |

Thanks strumble, the address is: 42 Chapman's Brae, Bathgate, West Lothian, EH48 4LH. The closest I get is the main road called Balmuir Road then Ballencrieff Mill where the turn-in is for the estate..
I know how to check for my software version (it's 3.90) but how do I check what version of UK maps are preinstalled? |

It's not on my V9 maps on my 660.
To find version number - on the 660 at least:
TOOLS/MAP/ MAP INFO (centre option at bottom of screen).
This may be slightly different for 3xx nuvis. _________________ Phil |

Thanks guys .. you'd have thought that an estate this old would've been showing by now, but there you go! |
