Please can anyone help! I have just purchased a Nuvi 310 and am trying to download POI's with no sucess. Can someone give me a beginners talk through of EXACTLY what I need to do. I have downloaded the POI loader from the Garmin site and done what it said, but no luck. then I tried copying the files from my computer into the POI folder on my Garmin, and although the CSV and bitmap files are there it still doesn't seem to work. I read that you could only have CSV and GTX files so I deleted all others! Still no luck and now I don't have the option "Proximity points" under settings! (is this significant?)
What about speed cameras, do they also go in the POI file?
How can I tell if/when the POI is working?

Please, please can someone help.

As you can tell I'm new to this so could you keep it simple and tell me EXACTLY what I need to do.

Thanks

Keith, Please check your e-mail inbox as I have sent you a couple of word documents that detail the set-up of your device, I hope to get them posted on line at some point in the future - for now e-mail will have to do - Mike

i'm having exactly the same trouble - opened my birthday present and wasted a couple of hours trying to get POIs so far. What a bummer. Sad Mike, any chance you can send me same instructions?

You don't mention what device, assuming it is a nuvi - then you should have mail - welcome to the forum by the way - Mike

I am also a begginer. Just bought 360T (similar to 310T). I have downloaded the POI's from this website. Changed to CV format. Downloaded using POI loader. The message was dowload successful. On the Sat Nav it asked for installation.

Even then POI's dowloaded appears to be working???

Will really appreciate your help.

Regards

If the POI have appeared on your device then it is working as it should do, you can download POI from this site in the correct format for the Garmin. On the free POI Downloads page there is a drop down box that defaults to TomTom, select it and you get Garmin as the other option, this will produce csv format files for you.
There are some screen shots in my post Here that show how to check POI Data is on the Nuvi - Mike
