Tom Tom 500 navigating down minor roads

Hi,
I have a Tom Tom 500 with the latest updates and new maps. I have recently been working in a new area that I don't know so have had to rely on the GPS. The area is semi rural and the GPS seems to think that the small single lane tracks that criss cross the country are faster that the main a roads.

I am guessing that the b roads are classified as unrestricted and the GPS thinks I can drive down them at 60mph – thus they are quicker.

I need to tell the GPS that the b roads are slower- On the Pioneer GPS we have in my wife’s car we can set the speeds of different roads – is it possible to do something like that wit the Tom tom?

Sadly you cannot alter the road speed, however can you check what route planning setting you are using? if it is set to shortest rather than fastest this would explain the problem, ensure you use Fastest Route when planning to avoid smaller roads - Mike
