Anybody know why tts wont work on tomtom 1?
Why are Tomtom so up themselves about people adding programs to improve the units they have purchased, surely they should be offering these people jobs to improve what is already a fantastic unit and make tomtom the only name people will remember when it comes to buying a sat nav. Ive never heard Microsoft complain coz I added a non microsoft program to my pc. Come on Tomtom your letting your loyal users down with poor customer service here. Lets see more free map updates and more POIS in UK and Western europe for FREE please. (Ive managed to get loads from various sources but tomtom pois make up less than 2% of them apart from the standard ones that come with each unit)
Wireless hotspots are easy enough to find you just drive around with your laptop on till it finds one!!!!!!!
Its also much easier to make a hands free call with a bluetooth headset direct to your phone to and safer I might add! so thats not much use really is it.
Having recently been on a Caravan holiday to France it would be nice if the was an option for Towing caravan or trailers or large vehicle to make sure you dont get on a road that isnt suitable for such vehicles to.

TomTom pay a licence to Loquendo for the use of TTS and so have to lock it to the device it was supplied with to prevent abuse and comply with the licence terms.

There is no such thing as a free lunch, maps cost money to make and the map providers are hardly going to give the data away for free are they! We have a huge collection of free POIs available for download and currently you can still obtain a number of free add-in utilities such as Tripmaster.

I see you are using a Camera Database, is it TomTom's? How do you find it?

The Go 910 has TTS. Features like this are very high-end and cost money - but the One is nevertheless a great value for what you're paying, imo.
