how do you record the north/south east/west headings when generating your own POI's

Not sure what your trying to do? Could you clarify.

Also talking about POI's any idea when we get some UK Commercial POIs as we only have French ons at the moment Wink

I have learnt that Lat Degs are posative for the Northen Hemispher and that Longtitude Deg are posative for the POI's West of Grenitch and negative when East

Try something like GoogleEarth to find the POI and then note down the co-ordinates. You may need an online converter to change the format

http://mapper.acme.com/ Does the trick for me. You need to make sure you go to "Options" and for the coordinates, choose NS d m' s'' EW d m' s''
On your VM, you will need to enter the coordinates as ;
Latitude ;ddmmssss then (choice will only show when all the digits have been entered) choose N or S and OK
Longitude ; ddmmssss then (choice will only show when all the digits have been entered) Choose E or W and OK

For instance, 51292400 N 00276000 W will point you in Simpson near Heathrow airport. (don't forget to enter zero values !)
