This might sound daft but I have a TomTom1 and I find that when I am using the speed camera alerts there are some that I am almost on before I actually see them.
I have set the alerts to sound off at 400 yds so most work fine but there are times when I have been in the car and I find that I am physically past a road or a place and the device is still showing me before it. This happens not only with cameras but with locations as well.
Can you get something that will update your device quicker or is it a low budget device and you have to live with this.
Please forgive my ignorance but this is for beginners.

Thanks, Dougy

The 'lag' on screen is usually caused by having POI's switched on. If you have, switch them all off, the speed cameras will still give a warning and icons pop up onscreen.

It would be worth resetting your warning distances to get a 20 second warning. e.g 200 yards at 20 mph, 300 yards at 30 mph etc.

With the mobiles it's best to set a minimum of 440 yards up to 40 mph then 500 yards at 50 mph, 600 yards at 60 mph etc.

Some people use 880 yards as a minimum as mobiles can easily catch you at that distance on a straight road.
