A total beginner, I have just bought this device and subscribed to this site to download the Speed camera database.
I followed the instructions and successfully installed the various *.asc POI files onto the ICN750 using SmartST and POi editor.
If I open "POI alerts" on the ICN750 I can see all of my files and settings including ticking the audible and visual alerts but they don't show up on the screen andy my lady doesn't call them out.
Will someone please tell me what I need to do to resolve the situation.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum!

Take a look on page 109 of your manual (enable poi's). Are the poi's you need in here checked including the cameras? Don't select too many as it can't really handle them all at the same time, so to test uncheck all the poi's except the cameras, then look on the map screen where you know there to be a camera location.

Also on the poi alerts screen double check the cameras are enabled here too as the software doesn't always enable the poi's from the uploads.

Additional advice: when you've got the poi's working, when updating the camera poi's try and ensure you save them to the device as the same names you used before. There is a small glitch which may cause some problems if you don't.

Thanks for the suggestions, Dom, but I'm still struggling..
I went thru' the list of POI's in "Enable POI's" and unchecked those which were checked. The cameras don't show on this list of POI's but if I go into the POI alerts menu, here are my downloaded file names and I am able to double-check that the dispay on map visual and audible alerts and warning distance are set.
The cameras still don't show on the map though. Incidentally, on start up I'm getting a message showing that not all maps have loaded correctly, though this didn't appear until after I'd downloaded the camera/POI files.
My next thought was to delete my downloaded camera files from the ICN750 using the POI Editor and try again. When I select "Manage POI files" though, I get an error message "No customer POI file was found on your device".
Would the "Restore factory defaults" option in "Preferences" delete these apparently corrupt files?

Looks like you may have already found the glitch. Try following this thread for the fix.

Basically you need to clear the device of all records of custom poi's, then start again from scratch! Sad

I will admit that I have never accually gone to navman with this fault, but then C support is always a bit hit and miss, you never know your luck. Confused

"Enable POIs" shows a list of POI whose data was successfully loaded.
POI Alerts Menu just shows alert settings set for different POI types -- this data is kept in "poialerts.xml" file and will be shown regardless of whether actual POI data was successfully loaded or not. That new message about some maps that have not loaded correctly indicates that some or all of the new POI data you added failed to load. Since there are no licensing issues with Custom POIs that means that data files are either corrupt or in an incorrect format.

With some help from the Navman support team and some from myself, I cracked the problem.

For some reason, maybe either thru' a missed instruction or me being new to the game, I didn't have the folder "MyPOI" on my ICN. When I went to create it, the downloaded files were sitting on the folder list with nowhere to go. So, cutting and pasting the downloaded files into the newly-created"MyPOI" file did the trick and wverything has been great from there.
