And you may wish to edit that last quote as you have your parts reversed _________________ Darren Griffin |

It didn't work for me. Then I copied your link and deleted the s from https, then I got there. I'm going to try this to see if it improves the US bias I too found when I did what Mullet said. Can't try yet cos' it says restart FF to complete and I'm in the middle of viewing posts since last visit and don't want to lose the record before I've scanned everything. _________________ Dennis

Hmmm, I would never have noticed the secure link to mozilla add-ons if you hadn't posted the above. |

'Fraid no good. It only has English US and the "add more dictionaries" option let me go for English GB, but when I clicked to install, it refused "not for FF 2.xxx, only FF 1.xxx". So I'll have to see if a FF restart has grabbed it from the downloaded one. _________________ Dennis

Right, I have just restarted and it didn't say it was doing anything. I previously forgot to say when I followed your instructions to Tools, Options, Advanced, in Languages I actually did have both English US and English UK. At first all I did was click on English UK, but subsequently on another visit there I chose to Move it Up to be first preference. However, colour gets redlined still and on closer examination, I note that it explains this languages thing as for display of web pages, not saying anything about spell checking. Right click and Languages does not give me any choice, just US.
Never mind, you gave me the info for doing spell check and even with US bias, it has helped me find errors so much quicker.
Well, just for devilment I tried the right click route again and Add dictionaries and this time it agreed to install, again subject to restart. So I'll go restart again, again!! _________________ Dennis

Colour. Curses!! No good!! I've now tried Tools Options Advanced Select a language to add and I've added English GB. Colour still curses!! Off to restart once again. _________________ Dennis

Sorry Mullet, I should bite my tongue sometimes. My previous post rambled on, but eventually tried to say that it had worked. I'm falling foul of doing the daft things I see newbies doing, namely not making myself clear and causing helpers grief.
Sorry again. I should have copied and pasted your post :- Quote: | Colour, colour, colour. See, alls well now. |

Hopefully it is only your own posts that you can edit so I don't see how you can abuse the function. |
To confirm, you can only edit your own posts.
Problems usually happens during heated discussions where the poster alters their original post to manipulate their original argument after they change their mind or massage their standpoint after it being rebuked. This often leads to great confusion to readers new to the thread,
If the flow of discussion is changed it results in a lot of head scratching, further questions, misunderstandings and possibly even legal unaccountability, i.e. one person libels another, then edits it at later stage. |
Thanks (and MikeB) that makes sense, I obviously haven't got a devious mind _________________ Tomtom Go730T
