Garmin 310 Sat Nav - Traffic Updates in France?

I'm borrowing my dad's Garmin 310 deluxe for a trip to France.

He has the aerial for the side of the unit, so I assume it will receive the traffic news - and avoid jams all the way to Dover, but will it work in France as well?

It depends on whether or not it came with a trial of French TMC. My nuvi 660 / GTM21 did. This means it should work in France when I go in September (and it will then expire 3 months following reception of the first French TMC message as I understand the T&Cs of the trial). Check the documentation that came with the TMC unit.

As an aside - if you live on the South Coast and get French TMC signals without really realising it - then the subscription has probably already expired.
