Navigator UK with USA Maps

Hi. I just left the UK/European installation voice file alone. In France, autoroutes are then referred to as "motorways", and similarly in the US, Freeways are referred to as "motorways". For continental travel, TTN understands that you go round roundabouts the other way of course. I haven't tried installing the US voices to see what happens in the UK at roundabouts! I seem to remember that there are very occasional roundabouts in the US but I think they call them something else.

If you accept markd's advce above - and only install the maps fom the US bundle - then the UK software stays intact with its typically UK voices. You can change voices anyway, as it is an option on the US install menu for changing them without reapplying the executable software. The voices and other interesting add-ons are also downloadable from TomTom's website

I got my replacement CDs in exactly one week from Concord MA. The link to the US map upgrade is not easily found on TomTom's website and I did not want to chance waiting for them to email me. I therefore emailed their support and got a reply within two days giving me the link. In case anyone else is impatient for the upgrade, just register the 5 cd version at

and go straight to

to request your 7 cd versions.
