Welcome,

It seems like you have done the most sensible thing already - made a backup of your SD Card contents.

Next, have you registered on the TT website? You will need to do this to enable you to download maps - if you want them. Don't buy any maps just yet.

You will then need to download TomTom Home and install on your PC. There are plenty of instructions on the TT website and should install "fingers crossed" without a hic-cup (famous last words)

Once TT Home is installed, TT will probably want to upgrade your operating system software for your TT. Let it do that.

Now check everything is still working properly.

Now have a look on this forum for discussions on the new map software before you buy new maps.

Regards

PS A bit of punctuation would make your post a bit easier to read.

He had an apostrophe - indeed, he had TWO (he shouldn't have had one of the them, but that does qualify as "A bit of punctuation". :D

Wildwill & DennisN,

I apologise.

It was the end of the week - I was tired - I was trying to help.

And...............the good old pedant in me escaped.

So, I lay prostrate at your feet begging forgiveness. I think I'll need it any case for suggesting using TT Home!!!
