I am sorry but I really do not understand how my TomTom works. I have dowloaded the POI Voice warning file to the satnav and if Iplay them on Windows Media Player from the device they are all fine. When I put it in the car, I get some spoken warnings and some cowbells etc
Any advice would be appreciated |

Welcome to the forum, which database and which spoken alerts file have you installed to the device?
Have you read the tomtom FAQ page in the go/ rider/ one section as this contains quite a bit of information #5 IIRC
It is possible you have have more than one speed camera database installed - Mike |

Hmmm...
A few things to sort out here.
1st Which camera database, PGPSWorld's or TomTom's own?
2nd - Which audio files are you talking about? Where did you get them from?
The TomTom range doesn't use .wav or .wmf files for it's audio. It uses a different format called Ogg Vorbis and the files have an ".ogg" extension at the end of the filename. As far as I know, Windows Media Player cannot play these files (without installing an add-on) so not sure what you've got.
3rd - Where have you put them? The files (when you get the right ones) need to go into the map folder.
If you are using the Pocket GPSWorld camera database, may I suggest you remove all the sound files you have added already and start again, using one of the file sets from THIS PAGE and carefully follow the instructions (where it says TomTom Navigator).
If you have the TomTom speed cameras, you caannot add the voice files at all, I'm afraaid. |

You can use advanced planning (AtoB) to set a departure and destination, make sure your route passes a camera (or select a specific camera as the departure point or destination) - then use route demo to replay the route at 100% speed (ish) this is a less costly option than burning petrol checking out your settings - Mke |

Thanks Mike. I didn't even know you got the voices when you run it through at that speed - always use 500% when you get nothing
Once again thanks to evryone. It is now working properly - a little knowledge is a dangerous thing |

It will work at a higher speed - somewhere around 300% IIRC - but to make sure its best to use prototypical speeds i.e. 100% when troubleshooting - Glad to hear you are sorted out though - Mike |
