fairly new tomtom user i have a sandisk ultra ii 1gig sd card would it be possible to download usa&canada maps on to this card

It says here it's 958Mb so should be OK.

Yes, did have the very same make card with USA maps installed onto it, obviously the Europe map had to go first for it to fit though.
