There are various voice packs available from the download page both with and without the sirens etc, take another look or are you wanting a specific voice + alert sound that you cannot find? - Mike |

Mike. Thank you for your prompt reply.
I'm using the Consolidated Viki Archer voice alert for all my 5 POI Cameras downloaded from this site. I can't appear to see again the link which included the warning sound + voice download.
Thank you. |

I am not too sure the Viki voice files ever had a siren included, the Liz voice packs certainly do though and can be found by clicking Here - Mike |

Looking for advise. Have a Dell pda loaded with Windows Mobile 2003 version 4.21.1088 with Tom Tom Navigator App version 5.000. I have downloaded and used the speed camera database no probs but I can't get the voice alerts to work. The .ogg files copy ok to the same folder on the pda but when I try to manage poi/warn when near poi, it does not give me any options other than the standard TT voices. When i try to open the ogg files on my pda I get the following message "There is no application associated with "pocketgps_uk_gatso", run the application first, then open the file from within the application.I have tried downloading different camera databases "consolidated/speed zone" and the relevant voice alerts, all to no avail. Can you help? |

Update the TomTom Navigator application to 5,21 (which is free and will work with genuine activated maps) then the OGG voice warning packs will work - Mike |

and don't worry about this bit:

All that means is that there is no 'normal' Windows program on your PDA (such as a sound/music editor) which knows how to handle .ogg files.
The TT Navigator software sorts it out for itself. |

Firstly thanks for the camera warning sounds they work brilliantly, Liz Whitaker being my favourite.
I have other categories of POI that I would like to assign warning sounds in the same way (with an .ogg file) and am looking for a nice selection of sounds rather than the limited offerings from TomTom and don't really want to get into the whole involved process of recording my own oggs. Is there a set of sounds I can download from either PGPS or another TomTom site.
Thanks |

Hi,
I would be grateful for assistance in resolving no sound with speed cams.
I have a PDA running TT6 and have down loaded Speed cams and oggs and have had them working for a couple of years with no problems.
I treated myself to a TT XL IQ Routes Live yesterday and copied my speed cams and Oggs to the new device from the PDA (where they were working OK) into the map folder on the XL IQ
The speed cam icons display, but when I try to activate the POI sound the unit seems to hang / freeze when I enter the distance to activate the POI. It displays 300 yds but will not respond to Yes button.
Any ideas would be welcome.
( I usually find the answer on a forum minutes after I post a query like this ! )
Thanks
Edit and added. Maybe I have found the answer that the ogg files should be in a sounds folder ?

I had a simalar problem a few days ago when i had to set my alerts up again after a map update.
I found that resetting the device (doesn't wipe anything from the unit) and trying again worked.
AFAIK the OGG file can be in either the map or sounds folder but i use the map. |

Thanks.
I had moved the oggs from the map folder to the sounds folder and now getting the warnings.
The Xl hanging seems to be cured and I can enter the distance to the POI
Now happily (??) setting up the distances to give me XX seconds warning (groan)

Is there a voice file that calls out the speed limit for my TomTom 7 Western Euro 1 Gig Map please? _________________ This is the sad bit where I type all these words in a random order and they neither say or tell you anything so maybe you should not waste your time reading it........... |

No, not for the speed limit itself... only for the speed limit in force as you approach a speed camera or mobile camera location.
When would you want it to call out the speed limit, every time the limit changed? All the time? |
