Have just updated my tomtom 910 to the current firmware 6.524 and i am also using the new FM Mount. :D

Since updating i seem to have problems with my reception.I installed QuickGPSfix with this update,i wonder is this causing my problems as i had no trouble before i installed QuickGPSfix.
Crying or Very sad

Is there a way to uninstall/disable QuickGPSfix from/on my tomtom 910?

8)

Many thanks

You cannot turn off the Quick Fix, but you might find that your Time To First Fix is longer following the upgrade - this longer time should only occur on the first power up, subsequent power-ups should acquire the GPS signal faster than before, let it settle down - Mike

sorry MIKE i did not see your post you were quick :D

I did give the tomtom nearly 8 hours switched on and it was still getting confused as to where i was on the road.

I just redone the update 6.524 onto my tomtom so i will try it out on the road again.[/quote]

I wouldn't switch it off though once it is working correctly it does speed up the time to acquire the sat fix. When you switch it on make sure that
1/ It is stationary, don't drive off without a sat fix.
2/ Clear line of sight to the sky, away from buildings etc.
3/ should take no more that 20 mins if you follow the above

YOUR'E right Mike i made no difference switching quickfisgps OFF :D

....Anyways i'm still having trouble with my tomtom.

Using Tom Tom 910.Software version 6.524 & FM Mount.

7pm. (switched on tom tom got signal within 1 minute)
7pm to 11pm (Navigation use only,reception & directions fine)
11pm (started playing mp3s on tomtom through FM Mount.Reception & Directions fine)
2am (reception & directions failure)

Not able to use tomtom for navigation after 2am.Even if i stop playing mp3s and remove unit from the FM Mount.

What could be causing the tomtom to stop working after 7 hours, only planning around 6 local routes?I have only had this problem since this new update 6.524.

Ive been using tomtoms since day 1 the classic came out and i know they are excellent but something isn't working as it should on my 910.

Have you got a backup from v6.52 that you could go back to?
That would really help to confirm if there's a problem with the latest software revision.

Tried it out with my original mount & software version 6.524 and did not play any MP3's.I had no problems with directions or signal done around 8 hours use.S

Can't go back to previous version as you need the 6.524 update for the FM Mount.
