I am considering one or the other.

Price £430 vs £335 (with the FM Transmitter addon for the TT).

Is the Garmin £100 better?

What do owners of the 660 think of their sat navs?

Well... I don't have a TT910 (Just a TT500), and I haven't had a garmin for 2 years since I sold my eMap, but I can tell you why I've just flogged my TT on eBay & am buying a new Nuvi 660

1. TT traffic is pants... (Although the 910 does TMC I believe, the TT500 does it via the Internet, and it was never right).

2. The TT has no scale on it's displayed maps. Making it difficult to know how far away anything is....

3. The TT has it's own ideas on what scale should be shown. It has zoom buttons, but they only soom out for about 3 seconds & the unit auto zooms straght back in again.

4. The TT has no settable detail levels.

5. The TT POI format is not (IMO) as good as the Garmin format. (e.g. TT requires one file per type. Garmin on the other hand specifies a type in the POI itself. However I'm not sure if garmin allows custom icons or not)

Wheras Garmin have settable zoom levels, and detail. Plus they have a scale indicator on the display... In addition

A. The garmin map format is reasonably well know, and there's free maps for it. And map editors.

The only plus for TT that I know of is the inertial sensor... But that is a bit flakey as well... It didn't work at all in my first unit, and only sometimes works in my current one.

So yes, I certainly think the Garmin is worth a little more than the TT...

They do indeed, plus they now support custom WAV files for each POI file.
