I bought a TomTom ONE V2 from Comet in the UK at the start of the year.
It now keeps losing the voice instructions mid journey. Sometimes a
factory reset solves the problem right away. On other occasions the
voice will suddenly become active again after driving a while.

I could get someone to take it back to a Comet store in the UK, or would
it be better to contact TomTom here in Germany ?

I can't return the whole package as I chopped up the suction holder to
make a dashboard mount, and the power lead is embedded in the fascia.

Thanks in advance for any help

Dont think you will have much luck with comet as it is past the 30 day return unless you took a extended warinty from them you could give it a try nothing to lose.
Other wise contact TT and they sort it out it sounds to me there is a problem with it

Do you have a system backup? If so, format the memory card (use FAT16 if prompted, do not choose FAT32 or NTFS as the format option) then restore from backup.

Also ensure you have all the latest system updates installed. Your issue sounds to me like a memory card issue, possibly fragmented. At worse you could buy a new SD card and restore to that, it'd cost less than €10.
