Thought I would post my problem and solution to this forum.

I received my O2 XDA Orbit two days ago. I had also purchased a 2GB Transflash Card for storage which I fitted successfully, and configured all the basic functionality, contacts calendar etc.

Then I opened the box for the CoPilotLive software to discover the default installation was to use the O2 supplied 256MB card. I didnt want to fit this since my own card is larger, so instead I installed from the supplied CD.

The problem is the CD installation only loads and configures the application. It expects the maps, speech data etc to all be on the installed card. So when you run CoPilot it gives an error suggesting you check the data card and/or re-install the software.

The solution is ... (making sure you have first installed ActiveSync).

1. Fit the O2 supplied card into the SD card holder and insert it into a card reader connected to your PC.

2. Select all the folders (there should be two) that are in the root of the card and Edit/Copy

3. Use Windows Explorer to browse to the root of the installed transflash card in the Orbit.

4. Edit/Paste the folders to the root of the installed transflash card.

ActiveSync warns you that it may convert some file formats for supported media files, but dont worry as it did not attempt any conversions on the files we are copying.

5. Check at the end that all the files copied OK... at least count up the number in each folder.

6. Now run CoPilot and it is happy, because it can find its data files.

Hope this saves others from a lot of messing about.

regards

to honest it faster to skip out active sync and use an sd card reader as you should have an sd adapter with the orbit Wink
