navigator 6 new voice alert data.chk file

Does the new data.chk file containing the new voice alerts work with Navigator 6 running on a Mio168 PDA? If so can anyone explain how to get it to work. I downloaded a file 7720_new_data.chk file to my map folder renamed it data.chk, but I still get the bells and whistles alerts.

Any reason why you need to carry on using the data chk method?

It has been suoerceded by the "ogg file" method for a long time now. Means you can use any audio you like for your warnings and once it's set up, it doesn't need changing again when the software version changes.

I must admit I have never tried this method, however I took your point I downloaded the Andyprompts 22050.zip file and extracted the ogg files. I placed these in the map folder along with the .bmp and ov2 files and renamed them to correspond to the speed camera files.
However I still get only the bells and whistles. Any suggestions!

Dont forget you have to delete the old voice warnings first, then go through them all and re-put on the voice warnings...

Thanks everyone, I have now got it to work, you were perfectly correct you have to set up the POI warnings again. But now there is no choice of alarm sounds.

Of course it automatically picks up on the .ogg file!!
