|
|
I have just upgraded from tomtom 5 to tomtom 6 as i found a lot of streets where missing from the UK maps.
With TT 5 it took me ages to work out the GPS settings.
Well its exactly the same with TT6, i have a pocket PC l00x http://www.zdnet.co.uk/i/z/rv/2006/01/fsc-loox-520-i1.jpg exactly like this one.
TT is working ok streets are found ect but only thing is after a new or any address is entered it says"waiting for a valid GPS signal....." and does so no matter where im driving.
anyone tell me in p"change pref" "show gps status" (shows no signal) the settings ie GPS baud rate and com9/9/3/2/1???????
Any help asap would be fantasic as i use this dailly for work.
Many many thanks

matey your a genious,
heres another one then, i read the same ptoblem on another topic and coppied exacly the same instructions that worked for the last guy but no luck for me.
Even when i had TT 5 i still could never do a full postal search, only first 3digits, ie G21, or KA3, not a full search till the street name.
Any idears on this one at all, im not actually bothered as i had always typed town, street then number and worked like this for so long.
Thanks mate |

Tap Screen | Navigate To | Address | Postcode
You 'should' see 7-Digit Postcodes in the list here and be able to enter 7-Digit look ups. If you can't then verify you have a folder called ZIP in the root (the top level) of your storage card and that within this folder is a Great_Britain.Postal file. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I do not have any file called GB postal file, at all on my SD card, must be missing.
For example if i was looking for main street in a large town then i would enter first 3part of post code then enter main street and number, all ways worked this way with tomtom unless small town or village.
when trying to do a post code search its exactly the same as doing a town search,
ill need to see if i can download or find this postcode file online somewhere, anyone? : |

Create a folder called ZIP (must be in capitals) and move the great_britain.postal file into it and re-test _________________ Darren Griffin |

If memory serves me correctly you also need a folder called TomTom which will of course be empty, can you create one and test? _________________ Darren Griffin |
