well, from reading MikeB's review on the homepage of the new Qstarz BT-Q818: 32 channel, 32 hour BT GPS which uses the MTK chipset I'd be tempted to go for one of those - the review says it's definately good competition for Sirf...

i presume because a score is literally just someones opinion as opposed to just writing up the pro's and cons of a device.
e.g. someones 4 may be someone elses 7 depending on what other products have been used by each individual. whereas a plain review should just be a review and not just a comparison against other products - which can happen with a score system.
just my opinion though!
