|
|
Hi,
I have a HP Ipaq rx5900 series travel companion. I have been looking over the forums and noticed that TomTom have the QuickGPSFix for the devices. I was wondering if there is an equivalent software for my ipaq pocket pc to help speed up the initial GPS fix time?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. |

Have you downloaded the latest HP drivers and patch fixes issued by HP? Click the link: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/ProductList.jsp?lang=en&cc=uk&prodTypeId=215348&prodSeriesId=3263043&taskId=135
I have done all the patches, but can't honestly say whether the ROM update included the quickfix update. My rx5935 locks onto multiple satellites so quickly - and its mounted on a Brodit angle mount well inside the car. Much better reception than my previous hx2410 running first a SysOnChip CF Plus and then a GlobalSat SD502. The rx5935 is a brilliant bit of kit for the money - I can listen to mp3's all day whilst running TTN6. Integration at its best!

There is no software fix for this. The SiRF chip needs to be able to support it, and the chip in the RX5900 series units does not have this chip. |

How do you check the version that is already installed on the RX5935. No point updating if the latest version already installed. |
