I have a P990i that supports text messaging. My other half sent me a text tonight and it came in on the phone but not on the 910. I have the "read my text messages" option ticked but it didn't some through.
Anything else I need to do please?

Sorry, I meant a TT910 that tells me my P990i supports receiving SMS on it. And it only went as far as the phone with both units bluetoothed together!
Any ideas as to why not? |

Are you using a Text To Speech voice, or a 'normal' one? I think you might need a TTS one. _________________ Tim |

Hi Tim. The thing (Kate) speaks street names etc at me so presume it is enabled. It's strange it stopped at the phone. Is there something on the phone I need to activate? Bluetooth was enabled between both.

Kate is the right voice, certainly. I can't think of anything else if you have 'Automatically read aloud incoming messages' ticked. I'm certain that's all I did to get this feature working on my Nokia 6230i. _________________ Tim |

Got it working. Repaired the phone with the GPS, sent a SMS message from my phone to my phone and in it came and was read over the speaker. Bloody clever!
Thanks for you help and interest.

not all phones will work with it. my samsung d900 can link to satnavs and show contacts and make calls etc but it won't do text messages...

But Doug's 'phone is on the list of fully compatible ones. He did say that in his first post (and I checked on TomTom's site, too). _________________ Tim |
