Updating Maps - 970T new edition

Hi,

What are people doing regarding updating their maps on their ViaMichelin GPSs now they are discontinued? I'd rather not go out and buy a new model

I have just taken an 3 hour detour around a 40 minute drive on new French motorway which was not on my GPS!

Hi,

I think us VM owners are on a hiding to nothing here.

VM even appear to have now stopped updating speed cameras; they did update the Michelin Guides for their units as well. I would say that there will be no map updates, or anything else for that matter, for VM units in the future.

Even the 'new' iPhone Tom Tom map isn't much better than TT Nav6, and I've seen several reports of out of date maps on other platforms too. I think it's an industry wide problem in trying to keep up to date, with some being worse than others.

Ultimately, in answer to your question, time to move on I'm afraid.
