Quickfix - can I just copy the file over?

I work in the fire service (Kent, UK), and we have mobile data terminals in our fire engines. We have TomTom Gos attached to the MDTs, to provide the routing information to our drivers. The MDT is connected to the Go, and sends the destination location to the Go and tells it to navigate there. It works well and the crews love it!

I was wondering about the new Quickfix facility? Is it worth us updating all the Gos to use this facility?

We have a mechanism where we can replicate a file held centrally out to all fire engine MDTs. I wondered if I could download the Quickfix file centrally and just replicate it out to the MDT and then copy it into the foler on the Go. Would that work?
