I have had an FTech Solar BT GPS working well with my XDA Exec for 6 months but recently it appears to have slowed down considerably.
According to the manual, the refresh rate for the BT GPS is every second and this appears to be happening if I use the GPS Viewer software included.
However, using TT6, the screen is refreshed only once every 4 - 5 seconds and I'm sure it used to be much more often than that.
If it was every second, it means that at 30mph, the screen would be refreshed every 15 yards. At 5 second intervals, it is now being refreshed every 75 yards. Plenty of time to miss a junction.
Can someone with the same set-up tell me how often their screen refreshes please?
If it isn't just my imagination and it has slowed down, where does the likely problem lie?
We call the satnav Jane and the GPS George. Do you think they have just fallen out?

Go to Change Preference/ Enable_disable POI and deselect the check box next to each of the POI that are enabled, if you want to see or be warned of POI use the Change Preferences/ Manage POI/ Warn When Near POI option - once configured you get the warnings and the POI, but because they are not displayed all the time it shouldn't slow down the screen re-draw rate - Mike

Thanks Mike
I've disabled them all and will give it a try later.
The problem did occur just about the same time I downloaded all the POIs from this site. I should have reasoned that out for myself. Doh!
Funnily enough, whilst we were in the States, it worked perfectly and there appears to be far more POIs pre-loaded with the USA map.
Is there a reason for this?
Rob

Inbuilt POI's are all held in one single file so I guess the machine handles these differently, the Custom POI you install are known to slow the screen refresh rate down when enabled, as this "problem" occured from the moment you loaded some POI files I guess you will be OK now - Mike

Is there a work-round to load all the custom POIs into one file?

Not really, there has been some discussion about opening the file and so forth, but with the Custom POI installed and set for Warn you still get the best of both worlds - and a decent refresh screen rate - Mike
