I have a TTG300 an as usual I am holidaying in France this summer.

This time I am going on a different route, via Alencon, Tours etc.

I know that a new toll road was completed in December 2005 but I do not know if the latest French maps will have this new road mapped.

I e-mailed TomTom and they said they didn't know.

I bought my French maps in June 2005, does anyone know if the latest version has this new road on it?

It is the A28 from Rouen to Alencon.

Many Thanks
Dave

Just used my 910 (6.506 map of Western Europe) and it showed the A28 as a toll road - the route between the cities used it for about 100 odd miles.

Thanks Arimus,
I guess it's worth buying the new French maps in that case.

Thanks Entwood.
I think the Hypermarket Petrol ones and POI's look very useful.

I have just downloaded the TOMTOM tool for upgrading maps etc.
Anyone used this? It looks a useful tool.

I can only check the Western Europe maps .. not France specific ones ... and can tell you that on both map versions 660.1256 and 660.1219 (NavTeq & TeleAtlas) the new road exists as a Toll Road - A28 .. the "old" road also exists as N138.

Hope this is what you need Smile

I know Andy, quite unbelieveable.
I was very surprised when they said they didn't know.
Not great customer service.

This was their reply.

We are unsure if the new toll road is on our new map update. The latest mapversion is 6.5. You can check the version of your map in "show version" which you can find in "change prefferences".
