Viewing this forum, it would appear that I am the only user suffering major performance problems with Anquet (0.6)
Issues include, Map page opening with double outline and the inability to scroll, minimising and then maximising results in a screen with no map showing just the previous application showing in the map window, scrolling the map with a track or route showing, fails to scroll but leaves multiple “ghosts” of the track or route, countless error messages refuring to JIT debugger, which one just ignores (continue), inability to go 3D and split screen with sync on with out major performance issues and error messages.
I am running this application with a gig of ram (should it be more) and a 3g processor.
Could this be an application clash with an anti virus program etc ?

No you are not the only one :x

I have just upgraded to the latest 6.1.4.0 and it is still very resource hungry. Split screen with 3d and sync on causes accvios. I have logged a support call with Anquet.

Sorry I forgot to add that I have also I asked support why there is still no help and version information on the pocket PC anquet program. It is inexscusable that they do not provide this info and they have been promising it since the first release.

Brian:-

At last, I thought I was alone. The features of this package are really good and I am sure the Anquet team are quite progressive in there development. However I am quite concerned at the performance of this software being a release and not a beta version.
I have logged this issue with Anquet and have received the following:-

"We have had this reported from a few users, and we are now investigating this.
We will be in touch shortly when we believe we have a fix."

I agree with your comments, it looks to me as if enthusiasm to release outweighs testing in real life environments with other applications running.

Mike

One workround I have just found is to only use the virtual landscape controls to move the maps as the accvio only seems to occur if you move the map by clicking in the map and dragging it to move.

See if that helps!

I have installed the new 6.1.6 version that came out on the 23rd Jan and it seems more stable. However I am still getting the occasional crash using the synced split screen 3D view.

Brian;-

Apparently most of these problems have been caused by users (like me) using hi resolution screen settings.
Anquet sent me a beta fix to test the other day which appeared to solve most of the problems. This has now been released as 6.1.6.
I can't say I am having any more sync problems, what are you experiencing now?

I have had an occurrence of the "split screen with 3d and sync on causes accvios" problem but it has only happened once after the upgrade.

I'll just have to hope it is now a very itermittent problem.
