|
|
I've had Garmin satnav devices for years but only recently bought a Nuvi 360. I can't work out what the "Map Outlines" setting does. The manual says:
Map Outlines - turns on or off the supplemental map outlines
I'm non the wiser, can you educate me? |

If you zoom way out (till you can see a whole country) if you have map outlines on you will be able to see the lines between adjacent map tiles. |

Sorry what I should have said was I always see country boundaries when I zoom right out - independant of the setting. But I never see the map tiles like I used to on older Garmin units. |

If you have a standard Nuvi 360 with no additional maps installed (beyond the full European mapping installed as standard) then there will be no additional maps to show the map outlines.
It's designed for adding 3rd party maps, topo maps, or for users of the lower models (such as the 310) to allow them to see which areas are / aren't subject to a more accurate map than the basemap. |

Apologies I have a Nuvi 300 and had assumed that the map outline setting would be the same across the range |

No apology needed. You tried to help - and indeed were correct. My map is one seemless map of Western Europe which is why I see no boundaries.
Thanks for helping.
