Hi, I see from other posts that a Transend 2GB 150X Secure Digital SD Card has been used with TT One's, would this work with my TT710 and if so is it possible to put my Western Europe maps together with maps of Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia for seamless navigation?

No reason why the card shouldn't work fine. Smile

As for the maps, you won't get seamless coverage, but will have to switch maps at the borders.

Note my earlier post here - the Transcend 150x 2GB card is much slower than the My Memory 133x 2GB (available from www.mymemory.co.uk )

Agreed for most people the Transcend card appears to be dissapointingly slower than hoped, however in daily use it doesent make any difference, if the TT has to recalculate the route because you have deviated the calculation still seems as fast as the card that was supplied with the TT.

To be honest I haven't noticed the difference in speed between my new Transcend 150x 2GB card and the original TT card.

I agree that the Transcend card isn't much slower than the original TT card. I posted because, if Zetor12 has not already ordered his card, the MyMemory 133x card is significantly faster (and somewhat cheaper than most sources of the Transcend 150x)

Ok Ok fair cop guv Laughing What I should have said is they are both fast, I haven't experienced any lag or slow calculations on either card, I didn't get the Transcend for speed though, I got it for it's capacity. TBH if an extra 2 seconds calculating a route worries people they are heading for the coronary unit anyways Wink

Putting all the maps on the one card won't give you true seamless navigation, you will still have to select the map country as you enter the other counties, the device cannot do this for you - minor irritation though - Mike

Hi, could I ask how the country is selected and can this be checked in advance to make sure the map is working before you reach the border?

Change Preferences/ Manage Maps/ Switch Map you should then be presented with a list of installed maps, simply select the one you want and the device will use it. Remeber if you want any Custom POI for that specific country you will have to install them into the respective map folder and set them up per country - Mike

the original 128 meg tomtom card was/is very very slow.. the one gig card my euro map came on is very fast.. faster than a sandisk ultra..

i am talking one being five times faster than the other at reading and writing data.. i never noticed the slightest real word difference in useing one card or the other..

my conclusion the tomtom dosnt need or benefit from a fast card..

You can have the fastest card in the world .... what matters is the speed at which the processor can actually read and process data ... all the posts seem to indicate that the processor is relatively slow as faster cards make little difference to operating speed.

I accept that transferring data via a computer cable/reader to the card MAY be faster on a faster card, but in normal operating ...... Question Question

Matters not to me with a TT700 :D
