satellite status bar - Mio p550

I have a Mio P550, but I cannot get the status bar to show how many satellites have been picked up. I have had them showing before when I first intalled the program, but I think I have changed the settings some how. What does make it funny is that now the satellite status bar doesn't work it seems to pick the satellites up faster.

I am using no extra software only tom tom navigator 6 software. The status bar in which i am refering to is in the bottom right area of the 3d screen. There are about 4 or 5 bars on top of one another. the more satalights are picked up more bars are filled in. In tomtom as well there is a satalight status window that you can bring up that tells you what satalights tomtom is using and gives you a graphical display to show where these satalights are in relation to the earth, the satalights here don't show up at the moment as well.

sorry what i should have added is that the status bars that i have discribed in the post above are always blank and are never filled in and solid depending on the number of satalights picked up as they have been when i first installed tomtom.
