Sorry but another silly question, I am going to subsribe so I will be able to download the Speed Cam data but before I do I take it I will have to purchase a larger SD card. Is that correct as there is not much room on the TT supplied SD card. Oh I have the 710.
Many thanks

Ian | You have more than enough space on the SD card for the speed cameras. But whilst you're in the mood, have you backed up your device yet? I suggest two backups, first using the supplied software Tom Tom HOME, second using drag and drop to a new folder on your computer.
I personally have ALSO bought another SD card, this time a 2GB one, and copied the original to it and now only use the copy, keeping the original in a nice safe place. _________________ Dennis

Dennis
I have taken a back up using both methods, when I did this I noticed there was not a great deal of room left on the card although I have not removed all the foreign voices yet.
How much space does the GPSWorld speed cam data need?
Cheers

Less than half a Mb. You can also remove all the Tom Tom free cameras, retaining them on your backups just in case you wanted to put them back (goodness knows why you might wish to do that, but there's no telling!!). I've kept the voices on my card, just in case I go to learn Finnish or something (actually, I can't be bothered!).
If you can stump up the cash for a 2Mb card, you might well find some improvement in performance (processor using space as swap file) and of course you'd then have bags of space for all the other POIs you might fancy getting hold of (but note there's a maximum of 100 the GO can handle). Don't ask me for advice on POIs to get - I'm just a geeky old whitevanman.

Thanks again Dennis, I take it that you would disble the TT warning safety cameras via the menu and just use the GPS World ones via POI? Still learning.
Cheers

Yes, disable TT ones. You may find you also have to delete them - some people have found they couldn't shut them up no matter what they tried. I've deleted all of them, so they can't bother me.
Looks like you're learning pretty fast. _________________ Dennis

If I need to delete the TT camera ones, where do they hide on the 710. Thanks again

Take a look in the FAQ thread near the top of this forum section listed as a sticky. When you find that page look at #13 it details how to remove them from your device, make sure you have a back-up just incase you ever want to use them again - Mike |

Hopefully final question, does the GPS World cam data only cover the UK? Many need to keep TT's Europe cam on my device.

I'm not sure, but I think pgpsw Europe cameras are still in development stages - not much coverage when I was in Europe this last summer. I expect Tom Tom's are no better for Europe than they are for UK. I have noticed a number of posts here talking about download cameras for abroad, country by country. _________________ Dennis
