Does anyone know if this is possible?

I often use the TT Juke box to listen to mp3 music or mp3 audio books while driving. One thing I really miss is the option to be able to pause the mp3 tracks fast while the screen is in map mode. That would be very handy and much safer for the driver.

I would like to have the bottom button work as a play/pause toggle button. Presently that bottuon does the same as pressing the button inside the "wheel". It takes you to page 1 of the main menu. So it takes 3 to 4 botton pressings to pause the music. And you need to take your eyes off the road. This is VERY inconvenient...

Have you tried/considered altering your menu? (Don't ask me how, but there are excellent instructions somewhere on this site). If you were to reposition the pause item in just the right place you might get to it quicker and "blindfold" with the remote (if you get it or its "route" top left - first - on whatever menu pages you need to go through). For example, five "blind" (centre of wheel) clicks get me navigated Home by fastest route.

You can move the following to the first menu item using Note pad:

MENUITEM|TASK_MULTIMEDIA|
This way you will get direct access to the first menu, but AFAIK it is not possible to pause mp3 playback from either the front nav screen or via the remote - lets face it the device is a Sat Nav with some "other" capabilities built in, first and foremost it is a Navigation device - Mike

Thanks for the answers. I have tried fiddling with the menus via notepad. I put Tripmaster on the front page this way. So I realise it is possible to reduce the number of clicks.

However I don't think it would be too much to ask TT make it possible for users to custom their devices more to their own preferences. Since remote buttons are there it should be possible to assign the ones you don't use so often to play/pause toggle, quuck launch one application, turn phone connect on/off etc. The more the users ask them to implement, the better their relative competitor advantage will be.
