|
|
All,
Was wondering what version i.e Consolidated, Single file, Speed Zoned etc etc of the PGPSW speed camera databse you use with your Garmin and advantages of that version? I've been using the single file and loading via POI Loader on my c510d but was wondering if I was "missing out" by not trying another of the other offered versions. Any views appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the Garmin threads.
I was always installing the consolidated database with the POI loader.
However, I tried the the 'zonned' version and the results are totally different!!
I have now consistently used the 'zonned' on the 60csx and the 'overlay' on the iQue. Others have followed the move to the zonned database as the visual effect is far more effective!
See the screenshot for icons that are visual at certain zoom levels.
You still get the audible warnings.
Any help? |

One thing that I also keep getting after installing the speed camera database is that everytime I turn on the unit a message comes up saying "New Extras data found on card. Would you like to install this data so it will be available if the card is removed?" I've always choosen No as the one time I did pick Yes all my speed/camera alerts stopped working Has anyone come across this or can shed any light on this please. Thanks.

I use the speed zoned file - depending on your Garmin model, this can provide nearly everything the single file and Ash's utility can provide (except custom settings of the distances for the warnings).
Type23 - what files are in the Garmin\POI directory on your SD card? Chances are there is a file here, which you either need to delete or rename, or update (depending why it's there), and this will remove the message. |

Because Ash10s software only supports the Consolidated files. |
