Being a pc fiddler i've often overclocked my home pc's wih no trouble. I've just noticed a few pda overclocking utils though (like JS Overclock)and wondered if anyone had any experience of them?

Forgot to say, they can be underclocked too which might be useful for battery life.

Anton Tomov's Pocket Hack Master has an excellent reputation - there's even "profiles" available for some models, which are settings found by the majority of users to be reliable on that model.

I have Pocket Hack Master - but don't overclock my iPAQ 3970. For me, stability is all important. My workstation is run in factory specs and isn't overclockable anyway - in fact, I believe Intel frown very heavily on there being any timing configuration in the BIOS of anything that's Xeon based. In any case, Dell don't put overclocking options in their BIOSes. There again, my Dell Precision 650, a dual Xeon DP box, is hardly your average PC - Dell have used the very best parts available where it matters.

The important thing with overclocking a Pocket PC is to take regular backups. Sprite Backup is highly recommended. If you take the RAM parameters out of spec and things go wrong, you'll find the RAM is corrupt and you have to hard reset - hence the importance of good backups. Indeed, I believe Pocket PC can hard reset without intervention if it finds RAM corruption.
