I am a bit confused to know if the traffic system is working correctly. If I touch the "car symbol" I get lot's of triangles showing different road designators with different colours. are these supposed to be superimposed on the route map to display problems enroute or ? Does the WAAS setting play any part in this or not. If not when should it be used?
Thank you

You may want to post this in the GARMIN navigation forum on this site - or better still could a Moderator move this topic?

WAAS is an american system to give the GPS better accuracy, not related to the traffic.
As far as the traffic goes, when you have the two white cars(as opposed to greyed out) on the main menu it means you have traffic info. if no traffic signal is received the 2 cars will eventually turn grey, this doesn't happen immediately you lose the signal because much of the traffic info it valid for long periods, e.g roadworks.
To check if you are receiving a traffic signal the LED on the power lead will show green, if it is searching for a signal it is amber. The other LED on the power lead is used to indicate power to the unit.
The traffic list shows the received traffic, if you click on one of them it gives more info and by pressing the map button it will show you where is affected. The traffic will also show on the main map screen. and if whilst you are being directed a traffic event happens on your route a red triangle will appear on the right hand side, press it and follow the info.
