C310 and firstever download.

Please forgive if the following all sounds a little naive but I have never tried this before.
I use an AppleMac but have obtained a copy of Virtual PC so it will run ( very slowly ) the windows applications.
I have a Street pilot C310 and would like to download on to it the speed camera locations. I have paid my subscription and have looked at lots of pages in GPSworld and it looks like I need to do the following ?

Download the Garmin updater.
Download the GPSworld POI updater.
Download the GPSworld camera database, the all inclusive one.

Then run or open or install them ? This is where I am in new territory as I am unfamiliar with Microsoft windows and how it works.

Before I commence are there any pitfalls I need to be aware of and is the above OK ?

I am a total novice at this so any advice would be appreciated.
