More upgrade questions...

I'm considering upgrading from TT5 to TT6. Could someone please confirm if my understanding of the various upgrade paths is correct...

I'm currently running TT5 on an imate JAM. Most of my driving is in the UK but I do occasionally use the MWE and prefer having separate maps for each country.

I was looking at upgrading the maps but it looks like I have to choose between a single map of Europe (which would mean getting yet another memory card) or upgrading only the GB map. Is this correct?

I've also noticed that the maps optionally come with TT6 (depending on the device you select I think). If I opt for TT6, am I right in saying that this will only work with the accompanying map and vice versa. Thus if I selected the GB only map with TT6 then this would render my maps of other countries useless?

Finally, to complicate matters, I've just bought a Nokia E50 which I notice TT6 supports. I'm not sure what the implications would be for my TT5 installation but it looks like I could select the E50 as my device and for the cost of the map upgrade get myself a complete TT6 system. Is this correct?

Yes I've just done the upgrade on my iMate JAMin.

I went for the UK and IE with major roads of WE that comes with a free TT6 upgrade. As it's a full version of TT6 it will install to a clean machine, it wipes TT5 if it finds it on the device.

If you want to transfer your Favourites and Personal settings there are instructions that I have just found on thew TT site.

Copy the TT5 Great -Britain_map.cfg file from your memory card to your PC and rename it mapsettings.cfg Note: You do need to do this on a PC because in the mobile device you can't change the 3 letter suffix

Copy Friends.ov2 & Friends.bmp to your PC

All you do then is copy them back to the memory card containing the TT6 version placing them in the xxxx_xxx_Plus-Map folder.
