Hi!
I think this time I did it, but I need confirmation:
I am able to connect to the GR-230 in BT but I cant get any data from the GPS... Although it shows on the device itself that it has a fix...
Does this mean what i think it means?
Is the only way to solve this is a cable?
I have just buy a GPS Holux GR-230 black bluetooth .
I have a PDA "Asus Mypal 620 BT bluetooth" and i have a problem :
The bluetooth manager sees the GPS Holux GR-230 well (manual page 12, chap
5.2 - 2 search bluetooth
device "Holux GR-230" ,
but has the identification Bluetooth, I have well an "HOLUX GR-230",
I put the key (passkey) 6268 as it is
indicated on manuel (manual page 12, chap 5.2 - 3 found the bluetooth device
and enter passkey ) ,
but in the window, there is not button to validate) , I wait approximately
30 seconds,
the next window , I put again 6268, I still await a score of second (20s)
and I have the message :
BTWIZARDProfiles:
the device not offer any service .
Activate any service of your choice available on this device ?
Then don't OK and on the windows GR-230, with the selection of the services,
I have anything, but
according to manual (manual page 12, chap 5.2 - 4 connect to SPP Slave),
I don't have any service "SPP
slave "?
Why, you would not have an idea? Is the code passkey 6268 good?
Why the service "SPP slave" not avaible with the Holux GR-230
bluetooth and my PDA Asus Mypal 620BT
?
I have a friend in France and it was the same configuration and it's ok
for his Asus 620BT with GR-230.
I also got a asus 620BT and the holux 230. It's working but often it takes minutes to start up tom tom! also when i launch 'GPS' from the setting/control panel it takes forever. Really dissapointed with this.
I found a solution for the GR-230 bug!!!!!!! ... but its not easy to solve.
I have opend the GR230, removed the metalic shild plate from the print (side where the external antenna connector is mounted).
There i found a small Battery soldered to the print. I removed the battery very carefuly. Then i shot the "batteryconnector pads" on the gr-230 board short (to discharge the capacitor).
Then I mounted again the battery and reassambed the GR230.
After this procedure it talks to me again!!!!!!
The problem is solved! :D
