Interesting to see that the Seidio Web site now shows a separate model of the G2500 for the iPAQ 5000 Series, maybe there will be one with a hardwired audio connection, I will just have to wait and see.

Laughing Out Loud - yep sure did. It's sleek looking and locks together very nicely. I think if I had the option I would have chosen the darker model though. The silver is nice, but the darker one might have blended in better.

It charges my 2215 without any problems. I'm going to try the GPS charger tonight (to see if the cable I have will plug in).

I'm not using the GPS jack as mine is BT (Socket).

The speaker function is nice, but if turned up loud it will distort. I still need to try turning up my iPaq first and leaving the volume on the cradle down.

The windshield arm is flexible, but very stable. With the 360 bit added, you could turn this into a little vid. screen for the passenger (or yourself... *chuckle*).

I didn't get the hard-wire kit, but I think that I'm going to soon as the standard cig-jack is a little on the short side and it's coils are tight (this my stretch over time).

I'll try to take some pics and post them soon... :D

Sounds encouraging. Look forward to seeing some pictures. I read elsewhere that it had some problems retaining the iPAQ when going over bumps at speed. Don't know if this is fixed yet??

Is the hardwire kit an extra? I assumed it came as standard.

My iPAQ and BTGPS both take the same power jack so I hope to get away with a standard cable. If I could just find a cable to power my Sony Ericcson T68i mobile I'll be sorted.

i can see my credit card making an appearance soon Smile

I called Seidio (because I couldn't find the hardwire kit to purchase from the site) and they said they don't have a release date for that yet. So I'll have to continue using the cig. lighter.

They do have the power cable for GPS' for $15 that attaches to the DC output on the right hand side of the cradle.

Could you elaborate on the speaker please. I've got an IPAQ 5450 (+TT2/Emtac) and the inbuilt speaker is the main reason I'm waiting for the Seido. If it's no good I'll have to look elsewear.

PocketGPS team - Are you going to get a G2500 for review?

Oh the speaker is loud, but I've gotten so used to listening to the 2215 speaker, that the tone on the cradle is lower than I like. Note that I said tone not volume.

Plus, I don't like having to plug in the cable every time I get in and out of the car. I live in a town with a pretty high thievery ratio, and so the 2215 never stays in the car alone.

Overall, it's a great unit....now if I can just get myself to take some pictures and post...*grin*

What cable? I understood that plugging the PDA into the G2500 made all the connections

Look forward to it Dave

But knowing my lack of patience, I'm probably going to order one as soon as the Seido site lets me. Feb 20th is the latest date for the 54/55xx I see. I read somewhere else (I can't remember) that Seido have had trouble with retaining some PDA's in the mounts, meaning tooling modifications. I've no previous experience of Seido. As far as you know, are they the type of company to let there customers do final product development or are they more likely to get everything right before releasing a product?

In terms of you being a beta tester after the product has been created ? Seidio have had problems with some of their cradles, and more importantly the suction cups/arms, but you will never find a product that you are 100% happy with, and if you do, someone else won't be 100% happy with it.

It's entirely up to you if you want to purchase ahead of a review or wait for a review (I can't influence you here either way), I don't know what the G2500 is like in terms of quality until I get one in my hands and can start testing it, I'll have a dig at my Seidio contacts again as I think they've forgotten to send it yet again.

<> I meant that tongue in cheek Smile
With some firms you get the impression that they release products which are 'near enough' ready, rather than the best they can do.

Out of interest, if you get a preview sample, which PDA will it be for?

With your knowledge of multiple PDA's, are the differences between them such that it would be possible for a G2500 for one model to be highly recomended, and for another model to be a poor purchase.

That question seems convulouted now I've read it but I hope you know what I mean.

If we get our review copies, I have requested an iPAQ 2210 and Palm Tungsten T2.

If one cradle is okay, then it should be okay for most other products, but it depends really on the fit and where cables lie.
