toshiba e570 : port/connection for globalsat CF receiver

I have installed Tom Tom vaigator and have the Global sat 307 CF gps receiver on order.

Within the 'GPS status' menu I have two drop down menus to select the communications:

Top box: gives options such as tom tom nav, pretec , Rikaline and NMEA 01382v2 4800 - looking at other forum notes I presume I choose the latter, these seems to be refered to as a default setting, my particular device is not listed.

Bottom box: choices are: COM3, IRDA connection, Serial cable on COM1, Serial on USB.

I have only two physical comms connections, the SD slot which iIam using for the maps, and the CF slot for the globasat GPS, any idea which one of the above four options I choose?

The COM Ports should be set to NMEA 01382v2 4800 and once the Globasat CF card is inserted you will have a further option on the GPS Type list of 'CF_CARD_GENERIC' and this is the one to choose, you won't see this option unless the CF GPS is actually present.

You've made a good choice with the Globalsat, it's a good unit
