tom tom 500 problems with text messages

'tom tom 500 text messaging & speed cameras'
Hi,

Am new to the forum but was hoping someone could help.

1) I have a tom tom 500 version 6520 and with regards to the handsfree kit all works fine apart it wont accept text messages on the tom tom.

It says because I have chosen a recorded human voice text messaging wont be available. When I go into the message settings it will let me write and send via the tom tom but doesnt recognise a text message received on the paired phone.

The only voices on their at the moment are the ones tom tom supplied. It allows me to send from the unit just doesnt recognise when one is recieved.

2) Also would like some advice which are the best speed cameras to have the ones supplied by tom tom or the ones with pocketgps ???

Any ideas would be most helpful

Hi Tim,

Sorry forgot to mention that, The phone I am using is a Nokia 6280 everything else works fine just the text message wont go through the tom tom unit.

Any Help would be very grateful

Looking at the Compatibility List, your 6280 will do everything except receive Text Messages. I'm afraid you're stuck.

never get everything working.

Thank you for your help as I can now stop driving myself nuts trying to get it to work.
