Hi, just subscibed and downloaded the POI's for speed camera warnings,Now, if i programme a route into my TomTom it guides me, like it should, it then sounds the alarm when i approach one of our local static cameras,
on my return journey i did not programme any route into TomTom but left it switched on, when i approached the same camera the icon for that camera appeared on the screen but no alarm sounded.
So, do you have to have a planned route programmed into TomTom for the alarm to sound or is there a way to get the alarm to sound no matter what, Thanks.

In the setup for each type of camera, you had to set a distance and a sound or voice, didn't you? During that process you also must also have ticked the box labelled "Warn only when on route".
Your choices are EITHER 1 ) go through the POI setup again and UN-tick that box for every camera type, or 2 ) always have a route selected.
If you opt for #1 and turn off the "Warn only when on route" though, you will get more false alarms for cameras on nearby or adjacent roads.
What it really needs is a third option "warn only when on route, unless there is no route selected, in which case warn anyway" but unfortunately TomTom has never implemented this.
