weird one, tried 3 different sd cards now - upgrading in read/write speed, i guess it could be down to a drop in voltage to sd...but anyway

when plugged in tt6 works fine, but unplug it (or just have it on battery already) and the map jumps about wildly. the speed and road remain steady, its just the rendering of the map thats bonkers Laughing

its on an acer n35, just wondering if anyone else has had this issue? even did it when i had done a hard reset, so its not a memory issue.

It is because whith W2003SE on battery power it reduces the speed of the processor to gain battery life.

The only solution is to downgrade to W2003 or use Pocket Hack Master to disable the built-in scale.

Yeah thanks for that mac_es. Been scratching my head with that one and the GFs ACER N35 for a few weeks, to the point that she's using my old PDA at the moment while i resolve the problem. Her power cable is running up through her desk and fixed in so i would just run on battery or run up the road in MY car without power while testing. Hadn't considered the power as a poss prob. Ta

Of course i will tell her that I used an oscilloscope, my immense knowledge and ran extensive bench tests without mentioning your name. After all, it is getting close to Christmas.

I had exactly the same problem with the map going wild while driving home last night. I simple exited the application and turned the acer n35 off and back on again after a few seconds.

Acer N35 has a samsung processor, so the only choice is Pocket Hack Master, it is not necesary to overclock it, only to disable the built-in scale.

That's another problem, you run out of memory. I would suggest an small utility 'magic button' which is freeware and it replaces the 'x' so it closes really the programs and not minimize them.

Thanks Mac.

I've been using magic button for some months now and I agree its a wonderful free bit of software. I like the soft reset option too. Useful if its in the cradle.

Not as far as I know.

I have tried discovering it, marking in pocket hack master the option, and then comparing the registry and nothing.... (it is shareware and you have 15 days) if you want to try it...

PHM monitorizes the processor and doesn't allow any changes in frecuency, and it does it in memory, as far as I know.

If someone knows how it can be disabled it would be wonderfull, by the moment I'm allways whith the power plugged. It is a new feature of W2003SE so if someone has the documentation of it...

just as an update, overclocked pda and disabled any speed reduction and that fixed it.

another pointless addition to a windows os that you cant do anything about
