I supose the end of this story is .... If you can,t see what speed you are doing in white, easily with a quick glance then TT say you could or could not be speeding or you could be speeding in white but not in TT world...... ? I need a doctor
What TomTom have done is produce a downright dangerous device which will encourage drivers to look away from the road for longer than is necessary to read constant light out of dark digits which might cause an accident and lead to the death of the driver. It's a discrace that a fool can do this and no one check his work and correct his gross error.
Was this posted on the 1st of April?
So the actual map display doesn't encourage you to look away from your driving?
Could looking at the map not, and I quote "cause an accident and lead to the death of the driver"?
Wether it's flashing numbers or a pretty map, same meat different gravy. _________________ Tomtom Go730T

Although I can see where you are coming from, classy56, I'm have to say I agree totally with Tatsfield, from my experience on the road.
I find I can glance at the map display without feeling I'm doing anything unsafe, and used to be able to glance at the old speed display in the same way too.
But whenever I try to glance at the speed display now, I find myself wanting to look at it for longer than I should. This is because it has either just flashed off, or it is nearly invisible because of the colour/light level/screen reflections, or it is just WRONG, and any of those can take your mind away from driving for an instant.
I guess it all comes down to being able to take in information that is what you expect, and that is in the format you expect much quicker and easier than other information.
The most galling thing is that there seems to be NO valid way of getting TomTom to listen to our suggestions or complaints. Judging by the trite, if not downright insulting replies you often get from TT customer services when asking a question, I don't hold out ANY hope that suggestions or requests get any further than the first-line droids who man the "help" desk.
Please TomTom, the solution in this case is SIMPLE: make it WHITE not red, and make it OPTIONAL. That would satisfy 90% of the complaints, any further customisation would be a bonus..
