I have just got my new TomTom One. I installed "Home" to my PC and did a back-up as recommended. Copied the SD card to a spare and am using the spare in the unit. Connect back to "Home" to get the updates and my PC locks-up during the download. Try to use the back-up and the TomTom One unit is locked-up! Try to turn off my PC and it just hangs at the "Windows is shutting down" phase. Only way out was to power-off. Dissconnected the TomTom One which is still stuck in the do-not dissconnect phase! Only way out was a pin in the reset hole. Now when re-starting the TomTom One it doesn't recognise my SD copy.
I hate computers! Thank goodness I still have the original SD card.

Go to TT's Website and download the latest HOME Version (1.3 Build 200 I believe), from HERE.

I admit that I prefer to do a Backup Manually, as then I know what's been Copied.;)

Format your new Card and Manually Copy everything to it, and you should be up and running.

Thank's for that Richard, I will download "Home" from your link. The version that I have allready is the one that you state but I am not sure if that was due to an update after I installed from the CD in the box. So I will give your link a try!

I have just downloaded HOME V1.3 Build 308.
I am using a 2Gb SD card to which I have copied my original TomTom One V3 Europe data which is almost 1Gb. This works fine in my unit until I connect to HOME, even this Build 308.
When I connect to HOME it says that there is an updated application available for GO RIDER and ONE. When I try to restore this to my connected ONE some files are deleted and then it tries to install the new data. The progress bar freezes at downloading F:\data.chk and then I cannot dissconnect my ONE even through the taskbar "safely remove hardware icon". It says try later! When I try to turn of my PC, it won't. Even ctl/alt/delete doesn't work. Power-off PC and reset button on my ONE which leaves the SD card currupt. Format and re-copy from my original gets it working again.
Is there some reason why I can not use this bigger card?

It could be your 2.0GB SD Card. Previous TomTom devices and firmwares have had difficulties with certain brands of SD Card especially the 2.0Gig ones. I won't mention the brand names of the ones I had problems with but I will say my 2.0GB Integral High Speed has never failed me on any firmware or device

I'm presuming that the update is to V6.520.

The quick way is to download the Manual Version from my WebSpace.

There is a text file included that tells you what to do.

Try that and see if it works,

If it does, and I see no reason why not, do a Backup and connect to HOME again.
