Hello

HP wants to upgrade (support problems) my 3970 to a 4150. The problem is I have a Holux 210 in the car. Is the socket on the 4150 compatable with the 3970?

If anyone knows could you please fill me in.

TIA

Clavain

HP should surely be able to tell you this ? I haven't seen a 4150 up close, but AFAIK HP haven't changed the connectors, certainly the 55xx, and 22xx range are all the same, 19xx are also the same with the connector reversed.

I have a 4150 and am using 1940 charging cable. I'm not sure if thats the same as 55xx and 22xx

Thanks Dave and wizy for taking the time to reply.

I have been told in other forums that the connectors on the 4150 are backwards compatable with the 3970 (and indeed the 2210)

I will have to wait until my new toy arrives to confirm this Smile

Doing a bit of searching on the net, many reviews of the 4000 series iPAQs do state that the connector is the same as the 2215, 3000 and 5000 series iPAQ's which does make sense.

Perhaps I was misinformed then... I was under the impression 1940 connector is not compatible with 22xx hmm...

Just an update for anyone who has a similar question. The HP iPAQ 4150 is connector compatable with the 3970.

Also althought the web page doesn't say it, I have received a mail form TomTom stating that TT2 is compatable with the new 4150.

I tried it out this morning with a Holux 210 and it works just a treat.
