I have just purchase tomtom 2 and cannot get it to connect with my ipaq 2210 and fortuna gps smart.

I have used this hardware with mapopolis without any problems.

I have set tomtom to sirf bluetooth on com 8.

Any ideas

It may not be COM8. Try the other COM ports , for example COM6

What COM port is used in Mapopolis?

On my iPAQ h1940 I use the NMEA 0183v2 Bluetooth setting on Serial Port COM5 and it works perfectly with my GPSmart.

When I tested the GPSmart I used the Emtac Wireless driver or NMEA 4800 and in each case used com8.

You should find that the 221x, 55xx, and the 3x70 iPAQs will all use COM8 for BR GPS communications.

many thanks. the above settings worked a treat.

at times today the software has been quite eratic, showing me on the wrong street. i will try to tweak the settings after reviewing the forum.

thanks again for the help.
