Novice needs Help Please

I have purchased the Garmin c510 and have tried to load the camera software onto the system but it wont happen.
I am not a computer kid far from it and I have been advised that this forum would be able to help.
On my system ussing Windows XP I have in my documents a folder for Garmin, in this folder I have installed the following =
Custom Way Point Symbols, from the disc I think.
Speed Camera 241006, from e mail attatchment.
POI Loader from web site.
Street Pilot C550-400. from web site
Web Updater 240, from Garmin.
I also have GSTART on my system but when I connect the Garmin it tells there is no device detected.
that is as far as I have got, so if some one can speak to me in simple english and help me get this downloaded I would be very greatfull.

hi reddog,

does the c550 use an sd card? if so then when you connect it to the PC it may show up as a removable device/drive. with it connected and turned on have a look in 'my computer' for a removable drive as it could be this.

if it IS showing as a removable drive then you will have to select the relevant drive letter after opening POI Loader.

also, make sure you have unzipped the speed camera file as POI Loader will not detect it if it is still zipped.
