Ive just moved from TT6 on PDA to TT1 v2, ive checked some postcodes in the area and they come up as un-named road , they do appear if i search for the address.
Im just wondering why these dont come up, 1 road has been here about 10 years and the other is a main road through a village which has been there decades |

The un-named roads appear because the map compilers haven't been given the name of the road, by whichever agency that supplies the information.
Because of the way that Postcodes, in a PND, work sometimes the position reference is either midway between 2 roads, or is mis-placed by a few yards, and this can lead to attaching itself to the wrong road.
As with all things, the end result is only as good as the information that has been fed into it.;) _________________ Richard

Do you have the Navteq Version Maps on your ONE? The PDA maps are TeleAtlas. _________________ Richard

Shot myself in the foot there then.
In that case it might be that something else in the data has changed. I don't know for sure. _________________ Richard

Silly question, do you still have to have a blank, empty folder, called TomTom in the route directory of the "card" to get the full Postcode search?

I understand that the 'feature' is not needed in TTN6. _________________ Richard

i think the navtec maps are used for the republic of ireland, as teleatlas dont do these, and have added it to the tto v2 model to boost sales as most of the other satnavs now include the ireland map. |
